Copolymer Monomers & Purposes with Sodium Methallyl Sulfonate (SMAS)

Copolymer Monomers & Purposes with Sodium Methallyl Sulfonate (SMAS)

1. Cationic monomer example: DAC (Acryloyloxyethyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride)

Sodium Methallyl Sulfonate (SMAS) copolymerizes with DAC. Positively charged DAC captures anionic sludge particles; SMAS supplies hydrophilic sulfonate to boost polymer solubility and dispersion for flocculation.

2. Nonionic monomer example: Acrylamide (AM)

Sodium Methallyl Sulfonate (SMAS) blends with acrylamide. AM builds long polymer backbone for bridging flocs; SMAS improves anti-electrolysis performance against high-salinity wastewater.
