6. Storage & Transportation
6.1 Storage Requirements
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated special chemical warehouse. Keep away from moisture, acid substances, combustibles and oxidants. Solid products must be tightly sealed to prevent deliquescence; liquid products should be stored in alkali-resistant containers. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage disposal equipment and neutralizing materials.
6.2 Transportation Requirements
Caustic soda belongs to dangerous goods (corrosive substances). During transportation, avoid violent vibration, collision and sun exposure. Separate transportation with acids, food chemicals and combustibles is mandatory. Professional dangerous goods transport vehicles and standardized loading and unloading operations are adopted to ensure transportation safety.
7. Safety Precautions
Caustic soda is highly corrosive and can cause severe burns to human skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Operators must wear professional protective equipment including chemical resistant gloves, goggles and protective clothing. In case of skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water for more than 15 minutes; in case of eye contact, flush with water urgently and seek medical treatment immediately. Avoid contact with acidic substances to prevent violent chemical reactions and splashing hazards.
